Lust for life


Photographer for 15 years living in Paris, doctor in history of art and photography, feminist, involved, Stormy Lola realizes portraits, landscapes and more recently stage settings on the topics of desire, sexuality, identity, in-between, love, unconscious, rebellion, nature, politic, history and humanism. For her, art is politic.


The serie “Lust for life” is made of photographs of couple and duo, sometimes revisiting mythological characters and subjects, taken in various relations: seduction, fantasy, game, rebellion, as we have experienced yet and still everyday in our affects and emotions, expressed here through humour and desire for life.


The artist’s body is most of the time exposed and active in the process, as a support of creation. As Hans Belting assumed, the body is receptacle and creator of images. Artist creates images on and with his body to go up by this “real presence” against the crisis of analogical and mimetic images. At the same time, the artist lean on her own embodies, and on the experience she has of it, to fight against the mass media monopole pressure, which usurp with so much strength the real world and bodies today. By using her own body, she threw us to it back to force the attention of the spectator. More than giving answer, photography asks questions.
